How many fluid ounces can you carry on a plane

I’m packing for a flight and I want to make sure I’m not over the limit for carry-on liquids.

Can you tell me how many ounces of liquids I’m allowed to bring on a plane in my carry-on bag?

Hi Reed,

For travelling to/inside US, the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) allows passengers to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams, and pastes in their carry-on and checked bags. 1. These items must be placed in a quart-sized, clear plastic, sealable bag and placed in a carry-on bag for inspection. Each item must be placed in a separate container that holds 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item.

If you are unsure about whether an item is allowed in your carry-on or checked bag, you can check the TSA’s website or contact them directly for more information.
